Achieving the perfect "sheen" for stage lighting

Hey everyone,

What are you using for shine?  I've tried "muscle sheen" from Protan and I looked like an oil slick on stage!  The photos are horrifying and I do not want a repeat of that look.

I thought of using PAM for the next show but I was told it streaks your tan...any suggestions?

I have seen your past pics and agree.  It is best to use less.
It depends on you protocal for tanning.
But jan tana's oil is nice as you only use a drop or two per body part.
Figure girls are safer to use less anyway.

Thanks Joe! I actually did not apply very much of the muscle sheen and not only was it was too shiny, it was also very uneven.

I will do better next time ;)

I concur with Joe. I used to love using Pam spray, but after using the JT oil, there's no comparison!

Yeah - less is definately more. People who look "wet" kind of look silly

Are you guys referring to the "Hi-Definition Glaze" by Jan Tana? I'm about to order it but got nervous because its a gel and so was that nasty muscle sheen. It also comes as a spray which they recommend for figure.

Yes!  But you put it on lightly.  if the using the gel , just 1 or 2 drops per body part.
Best to put less on.

Okay thanks Joe! :) I can't tell you how upset I still get when I look at the photos from my last show, lol. So unfair, all that hard work to look like a bike reflector!!

I found that it's good to pat off the excess oil with a towel--to ahieve more of a satin finish. Although, I think there are different routes to great effects--I agree too much of a shine just doesn't look right.
