So glad to be back and into my normal routine – Boise was awesome and by the jump in my weight – the food as also pretty awesome – but now back to the hard work.  Military – good – seemed a bit light for the first few sets.  Front Raise – good.  Side Lat – killed!!  DB Shrugs – good.  In DB Curl – solid – feeling a bit heavy.  Rope and Con curls – really good.  So this ends my 3rd round of this new routine – so starting tomorrow – a round of deload.

Starting my deload week.   Good workout  - nice and solid.  Squats – good.  Hack good and solid.  Walking DB – was able to up just a bit.  Hate these though – but if they work – I’ll do them.  Leg ext – good

Good workout – deload week.   Deads – nothing exciting.  T Bar – good.  Lat Pulldown – solid.  1 Arm Row – was able to up a bit along with the Rope Pulldown.  Leg curls were good as well.  Weight is coming down a bit from my “Boise Binge”  so happy about that.  May go running this weekend to get rid of a bit more

hest / Tri – 8/15/11 Bench – 135/6, 6, 6, 6, 6 Chest Dips – 4 x 45/10 Slight In DB 3xfail – 80/14, (85/11, 11) ss Slight In Fly – 50/10, 55/8, 11 Tri Press – 210/10, 12, 12 Lying DB Ext – 35/12, 40/12, 12, 1 Arm Under – 60/12, 70/12 Abs Weight 173 ½ GREAT workout.  Bench is a deload week – reason why it is so low.  But balance of workout was great.  Felt very strong.  Bench – nice and slow – solid.  Dips – good.  Took advantage of the deload to up the DB Press – felt great.  Fly – solid as well.  Tri Press – really strong – upped the reps a bit.  Lying DB Ext good as was 1 Arm Under – all just solid and good form today.  Got abs in as well.  Weight is a bit higher than I would like but will work on getting that back down – but overall  very happy.

Shoulder / Bi – 8/16/11 Military – 95/6, 6, 6, 6, 6 Front Raise – 60/10, 80/10, 90/10, 100/10 Side Lat Raise – up/down – 25/5, 30/5, 5 DB Shrug – 2 warm, 110/12, 12, 12 In DB Curl – 2 warm, 45/6, 6, 6 Rope Curl – 110/10, (140/10), 150/10 ss Con Curl – 30/12, 35/12, 12 15 min - Cardio Weight 172 Happy birthday workout to ME!  Military – good – deload week so the weight wasn’t crazy – but good and solid.  Front Raise – good – 100 wasn’t pretty – but got done/  Side Lat Raise – these things kill – but like em.  DB Shrug – good – solid.  In DB Curl – good.  Haven’t been able to get past 45/6 in a long while – may need to lower weight and up reps.  Rope curl and Con Curl good.  So turn 42 today – but have to say - don’t feel it.  Feel pretty good!  Hopefully a bit wiser and smarter – not sure though - HA

Back / Ham – 8/19/11 Deads – 3 warm, 275/8, 8, 8, 8, 8 Lat Pulldown Close – 3 warm, 140/8, 150/8, 170/8 Bent Over Row – 2 warm, 175/8, 175/8, [155/8] Bench Row – 70/10, 10, 10 ss St Arm Pulldown – 100/12, 120/12, 140/12 Leg Curl – 70/6, 85/6, 100/6 DB Split Squat - bar/10, 135/10 Weight 172 Holy crumbs – my dogs are barking BIG TIME this morning.  Really thought about not doing Deads they hurt so much.  I think I have the O-L-Ds!!!  But got it done.  Deads – good – sore – but good.  Lat Pulldown – good – nothing exciting.  Bent Over Row – good – solid.  Bench Row – good.  St Arm Pulldown – really like these – nice addition.  OK – for leg curls – kept it light as my legs were really sore.  Leg curls ok.  Split Squat – well – I think the word is pitiful – but hey – it is what it is.

Back / Ham 8/26/11 Deads – 2 warm, 250/3, 280/3, 300/8, 8, 12 Lat Pulldown Close – 3 warm, (150/8, 160/8), 170/8 Bent Over Row – 2 warm, 155/8, 8, 8 Bench Row – 70/10, 10, 10 ss St Arm Pulldown – (140/12, 140/12) 140/12 Leg Curl – 2 warm, (100/6, 155/6, 130/6) Split Squat – (135/10, 10) Weight 172 Good workout.  Made some good gains.  Happy about last set on Deads!!!  Lift Dave lift!  Bigger milestone is that this is 1 year out from competing.  So taking two years off to improve.  Think it has been fruitful – always hard to tell as the changes are small and incremental.   Up about 24 lbs from competition - think I did put on some quality size as the weight went back on differently than in the past. Still have much to improve on – but that is what the sport is all about.  So I figure I have about 6 more months at my current weight and then will start cutting back slowly.  Hoping to come in a few lbs heavier but leaner.  All this work for a few lbs of improvement – HA.  But I still enjoy it.  Does give me the drive to lift every morning – otherwise without end goal in mind – I would probably skip a bit here and there – so it’s good having a goal!

Shoulder / Bi – 8/29 Military – 110/3, 125/3, 135/8, 8, 9 Side Lateral – 2 warm, 30/8, (35/8, 40/8) Rear DB Raise – (35/12, 35/12, 40/12) ss BB Shrug – 225/12, 12, 12 BB Curl – 2 warm, 95/6, 105/6, 115/6 Seated Alt Curl – 25/12, 30/12, (35/12) ss 1 Arm preacher (machine) – 40/12, 45/12, 50/12 Abs Great workout this morning – felt pretty strong.  Military good.  Side lateral felt awesome as did Rear Raises.  Curls were good – will up next time.  Seated alt curl and preacher combo was great.  Felt very motivated after being at the OCB competition this weekend.  Some outstanding competitors – really re-energized me.  So one year down and one to go – let’s make some progress!!

Should / Bi – 9/1 Military – 95/5, 110/3, 130/1, 140/1, 150/8 Side Lateral  - 2 warm, 80/8, 35/8, 40/8 Rear DB Raise – (40/12, 40/12, 45/12) ss BB Shrug – (245/12, 265/12, 285/12) BB Curl – 2 warm, (105/6, 115/6), 115/6 Seated Alt Curl - (30/12, 35/12, 40/12) ss 1 Arm Preacher (Machine – (45/12, 50/12, 55/12) Weight 171 Good workout.  A bit disappointed in the Military press.  Need to do more than eight in order to move up in weight – didn’t get that (at least not cleanly) – so need to do a bit more work here.  Side Lateral – good.  Rear DB Raise – upped.  Shrugs – upped the weight – nice and solid though.  BB Curl – good – upped a bit – but going to need to stay here as form was getting a bit sloppy.  Seated Alt Curl – upped and upped 1 Arm Preacher.  Love Preacher – just feels very effective.  So next week is a deload week – looking forward to that a bit.

AWESOME workout.  First round in a new rotation – love that – like Christmas – ok not quite as cool as Christmas – but still pretty good.  Deads –  GREAT – ATG baby.  Always amazes me how it gets lighter / better as you do more sets (up to a point).  First two sets – a bit creaky – but got nice and solid after that.  Leg Ext – good.  Front Squat – LOVE front squat – was even able to up it a bit to 210 so happy about that.  Steps Ups – hate step ups – but they exhaust me – so good.  Next time need to put a few more risers on it I think.  Calf – burned come the end of them.  Great workout!!
