Craving foods that you cant eat?

As some of you may or may not know, I am a low carb ketogenic dieter. I often crave really crazy foods when I am dieting. Most are carb explosions. One tip I have picked up to induce CCK in both the receptors and mentally, is to take a cap or two of white vinegar and 3-4 fish oil tabs before you eat. This will raise satiety levels, making you feel fuller.

What tips do you have to squash cravings?

I like to say to myself "eat to live, don't live to eat"
or I just fit whatever I'm craving into my macro's.
Last prep I was making muffins, pancakes, burritos, tacos, bread pudding.
Joe would always tell me it sounds like a lot to do but if I got the ok I was making it!
1 of many reasons I will not ever go keto again.

I've cut my carbs out mostly only because of a neurological disorder with seizures and it worked well. I keep the fats higher than usual because it is that makes the keto diet beneficial for epileptics. As well as for the sake of a better diet customized to my endo-meso capabilities.

Wow, never knew that. Definitely does work best with endo-meso's. I think my body has changed from when I initially dieted, definitely used to be very endo. When I diet its strange, i feel as though I shift from endo-meso to ecto-meso

First of all - I think I am a bit more carb tollerant - so I don't have to do the keto thing. So I give you a lot of credit doing that.

A few things I have done is
1 - Drink a lot of water / coffee
2 - SLOWLY eat something small / sweet - like almonds or whatever
3 - I just keep in mind "OK - you are going to be wearing NOTHING and telling people to check you out. Do I want or do I want to be ripped.

I cant eat slow...my wife asks me why I ask eat so fast, I ask her why does she eat so slow??

#3 is what I usually say to myself when I have a nasty craving...I say-dare to be different...kind of became my mantra.

Ok well...here's my 2cents...flavored tea....

And when the boyfriend is chowing down his after dinner snickers I get a sugar free icepop...takes away my sweets craving and chocolate tastes like crap when your mouth is cold so it's not worth it.

Then of course there is the mantra if you eat that chocolate covered pretzel there is always going to be someone else on stage that didn't...competition helps to kill my cravings as well!
:o)

Oh yeah, I also forgot. I make my fiancee eat what I crave and tell me what it tastes like.

If it's the weekend or weeknight evening i'll try to take a nap and by the time i wake up it is time to eat again. If it's my last meal of the day and i start to get hungry i just turn in for the night. I am ALWAYS in bed early...it's pathetic.

I do this one too. Joe put this thought into my head and low and behold almost 7 years or so later, still stuck!

Yeah - I eat pretty fast as well. I am usually done before people are halfway done. Even when I slow down.

Yeah - I think the big thing is - what do you want more the food or the win. This time around I have built in "treat calories" - basically I will cut down on something here or there in my normal diet so that I can have that "treat" without feeling guilty or doing any damage.

I have found these GREAT biscotti cookies at whole foods - where each one is just 20 calories (basically VERY THINLY SLICED BISCOTTI) that I just have a bit less of this or that so that I can have them when I crave them.

I also just keep in mind - 8 more weeks - and you can have cake. You can wait 8 wks!!

Hang in there Chris
