Staying on contest prep point when on vacation

OK - so doing the MidAtlantic - 17 wks out.  Going on vacation about 8 wks out and then potentially again the first week of August so 3 wks out.  My consessions on going have already been laid down to the family.  I have to stay on my diet and I have to work out on applicable days.

Are there any other suggestions people have?

make sure the hotel has a fridge in the room.
make sure the hotel has a microwave in the room.
if you are traveling on an airplane, they most likely wont allow the ice packs in a carry on if you have food in your carry on, so use frozen vegetables in replace of an ice pack.
HAVE FUN!!

Depending on where you're going (SC? Key West?) you may be able to sample some of the local fare food-wise while still staying on your plan. FL and the South have access to fresh, local seafood, fruits & veggies that should fit on your plan/macros while still allowing you to go out to eat with family yet feeling like you are having something different.

Also hit up the grocery store when you get there & stock up on what you can eat & keep in the hotel if there's a fridge/microwave.

Gals,

Thanks. Actually this is pretty easy as vacations go. July is North Carolina in a house - so I am taking everything. August is Cindy's Mom's place (and she is a nutritionist as well) So have the benefits of a full kitchen and there is a Gold's down the street.

Well I know NC has grocery stores & lots of seafood restaurants.  Provided you don't dip your seafood in tons of butter, fresh steamed seafood should be readily available to you, depending on what you like.  Season it all with salt-free spices & you have a good meal that's till contest-ok.  Don't over think it, just keep it simple & fresh.

Then in August, let Cindy's mom create some specialties for you.....

Dont go!

Just kidding.  As long as you can cook for yourself, no worries.  And if you go out to eat, most places are cool.

HA!! Well if airfare stays the way it is - that is what will happen

I am trying not to worry about it too much. But I hate having a change to my routine so close to the competition. I know this is just a HOBBY - but we all take this very seriously and committ to it.
